I found God in my Nose...

Now I'm NOT talking about boogers...! But I believe there are some scents and smells that are just HEAVENLY!
Coffee Drinker
This week, I got to open a new bag of coffee - at the moment, my favorite blend is Folgers Hazelnut Cream-flavored coffee (and I add Coffeemate's Hazelnut Creamer to it). Opening a new bag of coffee means it has to be a GREAT morning... Because the smell of "NEW/FRESH" coffee is just amazing! Even my kids love it - when they see me opening a new bag of coffee, they run over to come smell it. My best friend, who doesn't even LIKE coffee, commented yesterday that my kitchen smelled so good (it was the brewing coffee!). There are some scents that are just heaven-sent, for sure!

Take a moment to think about your favorite smells...whether it be the smell of spring, or winter, or summer, or fall, newly cut grass, a clean dog, a baby's head, clean sheets, whatever... and thank God for these little gifts. I thank God for the scent of hazelnut coffee in the morning and a ton of other smells that lift me up during the day!

God bless you!

I Found God In A Blizzard...

...Okay, so it wasn't an "official" blizzard according to the weather gurus... but we got 13.6" in 24 hours... and that is A LOT for this area!
Snow Angel
I love the snow... I love to go outside after it has just snowed (even to shovel!) because everything is clean, and quiet, and "new." One of our pastors said it brilliantly last Sunday... that when it snows, "it's almost as if God has covered up all of the Earth's imperfections with his white blanket - and everything looks new and reborn."
Shoveling Snow
So while you're out shoveling... or pulling your kids around on their sleds... or working tirelessly on a snowfort that will be knocked down by your kids even after you slaved and slaved over it... take a moment to breathe in the clean, chilly air - and know that just like God can mask the imperfections of the world with his blanket of snow, He can mask the imperfections of your heart and mind with a blanket of His love.

My Son Found God At The Bus Stop...

SmileyCentral.com
Rainy, rainy, rainy day today... all day... just about every minute... EXCEPT when we headed out to put my older son on the bus. Four-year old looks up and says "Look! God made it stop raining for us to go to the bus stop! That's very grateful of him!" (I think he meant "I'm very grateful to him" or something similar).

My son truly felt that God stopped the rain just so we could make it to the bus stop and back without having to deal with umbrellas... and maybe He did... but what I loved most is that something good was happening to us, and my son honored God with it.

How wonderful would it be if we honored God with each and every good thing that happens in our lives... no matter how small? Take a minute. Say thanks. Now have a wonderful, rain-free day!
