GOD & GARDENING SHOES
John 15:1-4 (NIV)
I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

It’s not a “croc!” God will make changes in your life that will make you a better person and increase your joy in living if you will just hand Him the pruning shears. “Cut the fat” from your life – the things that are un-Christian, the things that clutter your mind. Present your body to Him as a living sacrifice, and your life will bear fruit!

It's amazing the things that we spend so much time, energy, effort, and worry on that don't really matter - the clutter, the material things, etc.
If we could focus on the two greatest commandments - Love God and Jesus and Love other people, how much better our life would be. More time working/living for God and helping/enjoying our family and friends.

The first part of David's comment reminds me of the movie "Labyrinth" where Sarah is in the junkyard house and she "wakes up" and realizes that all the things she has valued so much in her life are just JUNK and what is really important is helping her brother.
It's hard to be pruned sometimes, but God really knows what he is doing with those shears!
Hi! I recently started a blog about gardening. About a week ago, I added a Christian one. I'm not sure what direction God will lead me in, but I'm thinking it's about daily living. It may end up being about gardening, too. I don't consider myself a writer, but I like to talk.
I tried to find some Christian blogs to read and post comments on, but much of what I found was too political for me. I haven't read much of yours yet, but it looks really well done to me. I found it by Googling "Blogspot gardening as a Christian". I need to figure out how to put some music on, too.
I love this post, because it is similar to what I have written so far.
I will bookmark you and visit again!
